Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Recruitment of Inspectors Legal Metrology Posts
Department of Food and Civil Supplies Punjab invites application for the following posts:
Positions:
1) Inspectors Legal Metrology
Total Number of posts = 21
Pay Scale : Rs. 10300-34800/- and grade pay Rs. 3600/-
Age Limit : Candidates must be between 18-37 years as on 18th June 2010
Candidates will be selected through written test
Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab was set up in 1942 at Lahore to take care of food scarcities during the second world war. State trading in food grains was introduced in the year 1956 and the main office of the department was shifted to Chandigarh.
Among the major functions of the department are:
Procurement, storage and transportation of food grains.
Distribution of essential commodities to the economically weaker sections through the public distribution system
.Management and control of essential commodities in times of scarcity and natural disasters.
Protection of consumer rights in conjunction with the consumer courts.
Ensuring correct weights and measures of consumer goods.
