Indian Coast Guard invites application from Indian Nationals for recruitment to the post of Yantriks Naviks (General Duty) in the Indian Coast Guard and Armed Force of the Union for 01/2011 Batch
Positions:
1) Yantriks
Pay Scale : Rs.5200 – 20200/- plus Grade Pay Rs.2400/-
Educational Qualification: Candidates with three years Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics Telecommunication (Radio)(Power) Engineering cann apply.
Age Limit: Candidates age must be between 1st January 1989 and 1st January 1993
2) Naviks (General Duty)
Pay Scale : Rs.5200 – 20200/- plus Grade Pay Rs.2000/-
Educational Qualification: Candidates who passed 10+2 with Maths and Physics from an education board recognised by central/ state government can apply
Age Limit: Candidates age must be between 1st January 1989 and 1st January 1993
3) Naviks (Domestic Branch (Cooks & Stewards)
Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200/- plus Grade Pay Rs.1900/-
Educational Qualification: Candidates who passed Matrics (10th Pass) can apply.
Age Limit: Candidates age must be between 1st January 1989 and 1st January 1993
Last date to receive application form is 10th August 2010 and 16th August
Age: relaxable as per government rules

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is one of four branches of the Indian Armed Forces, tasked with the mission to guard the Republic of India's maritime interests. The Indian Coast Guard's organization is similar to that of other Para Military Forces of India. It was created on 18 August 1978 as an independent entity as per the Coast Guard Act. It operates under the effective control of the Ministry of Defence.
The ICG mission is to protect India's maritime interests, including its coastline, Exclusive Economic Zone and Shipping. It is also tasked with Indian maritime law enforcement relating to ocean resources, shipping, customs and revenue, maritime environment, protected species as well as narcotics.
