SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection of candidates will be made through a process of All-India Entrance Test which will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including written English Language Skills. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed students.
TOTAL NO OF SEATS: 60 (may undergo some changes depending upon the availability of infrastructure. Of these, up to 15 seats may be allotted to the in-service Indian and international candidates).
PROGRAMME DURATION: (One year) August, 2011 to July, 2012
COURSE FEE: Indian Students Rs 1.60 lakh; International Students: US $ 6500

ENTRANCE TEST: The Entrance Test will be conducted on 06.02.2011 at the following centres: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Kohima, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pune, Rajkot, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Siliguri, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Vishakhapatanam. However, the NIRD reserves the right to cancel any of the centres or add new centres for any administrative reasons and assign any other centre to the applicants.
NIRD Mission
To examine and analyse the factors contributing to the improvement of economic and social well-being of people in rural areas on a sustainable basis with focus on the rural poor and the other disadvantaged groups through research, action research and consultancy efforts.
To facilitate the rural development efforts with particular emphasis and focus on the rural poor by improving the knowledge,skills and attitudes of rural development officials and non-officials through organising training, workshops and seminars
