Puducherry Joint Entrance Test (Puducherry JET)

Puducherry Joint Entrance Test is conducted by the Government of Puducherry. This entrance test is conducted for the first year admissions in various courses in Medical and Engineering. Centralized Admission Committee of Puducherry Government is organized the test. This examination is normally conducted in the month of May.

Various courses offered by JET:

The Puducherry Joint Entrance Test offers the courses as follows:

• BDS

• BAMS

• B. Pharm

• B. Sc. In MLT

• B. Sc. In nursing

• B. Tech.

Eligibility criteria for JET:

For B. Tech.:

The student passed 12th examination in science stream with physics and mathematics compulsory subject and any one subject from chemistry, biology, biotechnology, computer science.

Diploma students who are appearing for examination are also eligible for JET; the admission of such candidates to the Entrance Test will be purely provisional and will be cancelled, if he fails in exam or not fit in criteria.

For Medical:

The candidate passed 12th examination from any recognized board or university with physics and chemistry as compulsory subject with any one subject from biology, Botany, Zoology and Biotechnology.

Examination Pattern:

The duration of examination is two hours. Three papers are there for the exam. Paper I- Physics, Paper II- Mathematics, Paper III- Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Botany and Zoology. First paper contains 60 questions and each carries one marks. Second paper is of 80 marks and third one carries 100 marks. 

Selection Procedure:

Selection procedure of the candidates for all the degree courses will be strictly based on the Merit lists which are prepared by Centralized Admission Committee of Puducherry Government.

General Information:

The candidates from outside state are not eligible for the admission in Government College but they are eligible for private college. Candidates whose 12th results are not declared will require to submitting true copies of mark-sheet which are attested by the competent authorities and after declaration of Board results they will submit their mark sheet within five days.
