Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test, (TANCET)

Tamil Nadu University was established in 2002. Tamil Nadu Common Entrance test is offered by University of Chennai for the admission of different courses in Tamil Nadu. 

Various courses that are offered by TANCET:

• MBA

• MCA

• M. Tech.

• M. Arch.

• M. Plan

• M. E.

Eligibility Criteria for the AUCET Exam:

For MBA:

The candidate should have pass in any Bachelor’s Degree in 10+2+3 scheme from recognized University. Or have bachelor’s degree in B. E., B. Tech., B. Pharm and B. Arch.

For MCA:

The candidate must have to pass Bachelor’s Degree in the 10+2+3 pattern with Mathematics or statics subject.

For M. E./ M. Arch./ M. Tech. And M. plan:

For eligibility in above courses candidates must has to complete bachelor’s degree in B. E., B. Tech., B. Pharm and B. Arch. with minimum of 55% marks.

For appearing in examination the nationality of candidate is must be Indian. 

Examination Pattern:

For MBA and MCA:

The duration of test is two hour and it included 100 questions which are of objective types. The subjects for the examinations are related to the concern field.

For M. E./ M. Arch./ M. Tech. And M. plan:

Three sections are there in paper. First two sections are compulsory which includes the Mathematics and Basic Engineering & Sciences. For the third section candidate can selects the subject of his specialization from 14 different subjects. Two hour is provided for the exam.

Provision of negative marking is there so for every wrong answer mark will be deducted.

Examination Centers:

On more than 15 centers are available for the examination in all over Tamil Nadu. List of centers is as follows: Chennai, Chidambaram, Vellore, Trichy, Madurai, Karaikudi, Salem, Nagercoil, Thanjavur, Dindigul, Virudhunagar and Villupuram etc.
