In India sixty four thousand km of area is electrified with 25,000 V. A.C. traction. Kolkata Metro rail use 750v dc delivered through third rail. Electric engine commonly get electricity from overhead. Konkan railway is line runs from Konkan coast of India and it was constructed by Konkan Railway Corporation. Konkan railway opened from 26 JAN 1998 for Indian passenger.
