As Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officer
Applications are invited from Indian citizens both male and female, who have passed their final MBBS examination in first or second attempt and completed intership for grant of Short Service Commission in the Army Medical Corps. Applicants who have taken more than two chances in the final MBBS need not apply.

Age Limit: The Candidate must not have attained 45 years of age on 31st December 2011

About Indian Army
Indian Army is the largest standing volunteer Army in the world. The number of people in the Army is over one million personnel and more than three dozen field division. The army of the country is more dedicated on the outskirts especially Kashmir as it is the most sensitive region and our army personnel are handling its sensitivity with cautious efforts throughout the year. In 2002 Indian army were having 980000 active troops, on which 300000 were the first line troops and another 500000-second line troops. In 1994, Indian army was having 940000 men and women on duty and 36000 were posted under Territorial Army. In 1998, the strength of Indian army was about 1045000 still shortages of 59000 troops.
At the time of World War II the number of Indian army were having 170000 soldiers but by the June 1948 the number raised up to 2000000. On because of this reason British officers were needed to train and commanded each battalion. Eight British officers take command and Indian Viceroy Commissioned officers managed all lower ranks.
Every year large number of people of the country is passionate to join the force. However, this does not reflect the large unemployed workforce to take the uniform to keep body and soul together. In fact, joining the army is still a matter of proud and many fathers do not want anything else from his kid just he want he must serve the nation at his best by joining the army. They do not ask for more from the child.
For the recruitment purpose, some recruitment zones have been formed. Every zone is having a quota for the recruitment purpose based on ethnic and population grouping. A legacy is slowing being diluted in regiments for recruiting from a particular zone or from the mixture of cultural groups.
