The National Institute of Biologicals, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India is a premier scientific organization and a centre of excellence to ensure quality of vaccines and biologicals in the country. The Institute is looking for a competent, dedicated and dynamic person for the post of Director as per details below:

Scale of pay: Revised Pay Band: Rs.67000-79000 (HAG) (with annual increment @ 3%) plus NPA, as applicable, for Medical personnel.

Method of Recruitment: Direct Recruitment through a Search –Cum-Selection committee.

Age: Preferably below 52 Years.

Relaxation in upper age limit: The upper age limit shall be further relaxed upto 5 years for departmental candidates. The upper age limit is also relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates otherwise exceptionally well qualified.

Qualifications:

Medical: Essential :(i)PG Medical degree in the field of Microbiology/Bacteriology/ Serology/ Virology/ Hematology or allied biologicals sciences. OR (ii) Ph.D in any of the above related fields.

Non-medical: Essential: (i) M.Sc in Microbiology/Bacteriology/Physiology/Bio-Chemistry or allied biological sciences, (ii) Ph.D in any of the above related fields.

Experience: (i) 20 years standing in the profession (ii) Experience in research, training, manufacturing and quality control of biologicals viz. vaccines, blood products and other biological products for at least 15 years. (iii) Extensive administrative experience.

Tenure: Appointment shall be for a tenure of 5(Five) years not extending beyond the age of 60 years. The tenure may be extended for a further term upto the age of 62 years or terminated on 3 months notice or pay, if considered appropriate.

The person selected for this post would be prohibited from seeking/applying for any other employment for a period of 3 years.

Job Description: He/She is expected to ensure that the NIB plays a pioneering role in the field of quality assurance, management and control of Biologicals, Should possess dynamism and drive to enable the Institute to establish links with the national and international agencies working in the relevant field of biologicals and should be capable of providing leadership and direction to all activities of the Institute.

National Institute of Biologicals has been established as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOH&Fw)-Government of India. registered in January 1992 (vide No. S-22590) under the Societies Registration Act 1860. laid down in Bye-Laws of  the institute.

The institute responsibly assures and reviews the quality of number of  Biological products available through domestic manufacturers or imports. The operations are carried out in the state of the art Facility of the Institute and in close coordination with Government of India regulatory authorities as Office of Drug Controller of India, Indian Pharmacopeia's Commission.
