DU first cutoff on June 15, may be up by 3 percent
New Delhi: Colleges at the Delhi University (DU) have already begun working out on their cutoff lists for the upcoming academic session. The first cutoff list by the Delhi University is set to be announced on June 15.
The university had decided this year to discontinue the preadmission forms and announce the cutoffs based on students' percentage of this year and the previous years.
It is being expected that the cutoff percentages for admissions to DU this year will witness a rise of about 3% in the first list.
The colleges have been told by the university to submit their cutoffs by 1 PM on June 14. However, teachers in many colleges have said that they have already calculated the first cutoff marks for this year's admission process.
As the cutoff percentages had been quite high last year, the hike in the cutoffs this year is only going to make the admissions all the more difficult for aspirants.
Aspirants may be required to have near perfect scores for the coveted courses at the university such as B.Com (Honors) and BA (Honors) Economics in the first list.
The university has two campuses, namely north campus and south campus in the northern and southern part of the city respectively. The north campus is well connected with the yellow line of the Delhi Metro. The station is called Vishwavidyalaya, which means "university" in Hindi and Sanskrit. North campus is about 2.5 km from Delhi Vidhan Sabha and 7.0 km from ISBT.
