VIT Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE)
Admission for MCA/MTech degree programmes 2011-2012
VITMEE EXAM DATES
VITMEE will be conducted on 11th and 12th June 2011, between 10 am and 12 noon. VIT will inform the candidates the exact date and time of the exam will be uploaded in website.
Test Slot booking instructions:
VITMEE 2011 test slot booking is a web based online scheduling system.
Online Applicants
Once the candidate submits the online application, the candidate will receive will an e-mail (as per the id specified in the VITMEE 2011 online application form) with a website link and the corresponding login credentials (user id & password).
Candidates are required to check the VIT website (www.vit.ac.in) on a regular basis for any important updates.
ELIGIBILITY
Nationality
The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have graduated from Institutions located in India.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University with a minimum aggregate of 60% for MCA and 50% for M.Tech. degree programmes.
Consistent Record in X Std. and XII Std. is required.
Candidates appearing for their final degree exam / final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply.
Candidates should have completed their final Semester/year exams before the selection interview at VIT University.
It is compulsory for candidates selected to produce their final year marks’ statement and Provisional degree certificate before August 15th, 2011, failing which, their admission will stand cancelled.

ADMIT CARD
Candidates will be able to print their admit card from 06th June 2011, onwards.
Scholarships
100% tuition fee waiver will be given for GATE top scorers.
In addition, a total sum of 1,68,000/- per student will be awarded for 2 years as a stipend (paid on monthly basis).
A stipend of 5,000/- per month for candidates of M.Tech. Nanotechnology with high GATE scores.
In addition they will get 25,000/- per annum as contingency under DST-Nanotechnology initiative programme.
A stipend of 25,000/- per month will be given by DAAD fellowship for M.Tech. Sensor Systems Technology
(One year at VIT and one year at UAS, Karlsruhe, Germany).

VIT University, VIT University, commonly called Vellore Institute of Technology or VIT, is located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. VIT has nine schools[3] which offer 15 undergraduate and 30 postgraduate programs with an emphasis on engineering and technology and 13 research centers in disciplines like Rapid Prototyping, Manufacturing, Product Design, Energy, Biomedical Research, Information Technology, Nanotechnology.
The university follows an entrance exam based system VIT of admission. A yearly entrance exam, Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE), is conducted around April. The admissions from this exam are decided based on merit. Another entrance exam, Vellore Institute of Technology Masters' Entrance Exam (VITMEE), is conducted for admissions to the Masters' programs. For entrance into Business Management programmes, the results of the nation-wide Common Admission Test (CAT) and other equivalent tests are considered.
