Punjab Police invites application for the following posts:
Positions:
1) Male Constable
Total Number of posts : 359
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be 10+2 or equivalent in any discipline. It is compulsory for each candidate to have passed matriculation exam with Punjabi as compulsory/ optional subject. For Ex-serviceman the minimum qualification is Matric.
Height : 5'7"
Age Eligibility: Candidates age should be between 18-25 years as on 30th June 2010.
Application Fees: Candidates have to application fees of Rs 100 in the form of DD

The Punjab Police is responsible for policing in the state of Punjab, India. Its present Director General is a J&K cadre IPS officer Mr. PS Gill.
After the British annexed Punjab in 1849, the Punjab Police was created as a separate unit after 1861. The Punjab Police was closely involved in the operations against the separatist Khalistani insurgency in the 1980s and the 1990s and had been accused of carrying out extensive violations of Human Rights during these operations. On November 18, 2005, six Punjab Police officials were convicted of the 1995 abduction and murder of Jaswant Singh Khalra.
