About UGC NET JRF Exam
JRF – The Junior Research Fellowship examination is conducted by the University Grants Commission., The exam will result in an fellowship grant for the successful candidates to get the JRF reward along with eligibility for lectureships. UGC conducts these exams through its Human Resource Development Group (HRDG). Like NET, the JRF too covers the candidates in the age group not exceeding 65 years. The successful candidates can enjoy the same for up to 5 years. To be considered for the JRF, the candidates must definitely choose JRF as the option. The notification regarding the examination will be published in all the leading news papers like the Émployment News’at least 3 months in advance. The exams will be conducted in the month of June and December. The bulletins will be out in March and September respectively. The aspirants are mainly chosen from the social sciences and humanities background. Those candidates who secure highest ranks in the NET are awarded JRF – The Junior Research Fellowship which includes a stipend. At present the stipend has been fixed at Rs. 10000/- p.m with HRA. They can also avail a book grant up to Rs. 10000/- per year. The exam stands as a very special one as it concentrates mainly on the teaching aptitude and research methodology which will surely fine tune the system of teaching in the country.
The candidates need to answer three papers – Research Methodology and Aptitude Test, Objective Test and an optional Subjective Test.
