About Bank of Baroda
Bank of Baroda, India’s third largest Nationalized Bank with assets of Rs 1, 43,146 crores. This bank is just after the State bank of India and Punjab National bank in the rank tally. Its network is spreaded all across the India with 3000 offices and branches and more then 1100 ATM. It provides various kind of financial assistance to its costumer like credit cars, investment banking, and asset management. Its costumer ranges from corporate to retail.
It was established by the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad of Baroda on 20th July, 1908. It was started in a small building with the capital of Rs 10 lakh. The turning point in the bank history was when it was declared a nationalized bank on July 19, 1969 by government of India.
The total deposits of Bank by the end of March of 2007 were 1, 24, 915 crores. By the end of April total no of branches worldwide were 2955. It has branches located in al the parts of India whether it a metro or rural areas or sub-urban areas etc. This bank has its branch outside India also. It has 43 regional offices and 10 zonal offices to control the operations through India.
As the bank has a huge network in India, its network is also wide spread outside India. It has branches in 14 different countries Bahamas, Belgium, Fiji, China, Mauritius, Malaysia, South Africa, USA, UK, UAE, Seychelles, Uganda, Thailand, Bahrain, Oman, Austria and Singapore.
A total no of 38063 employees are working with this Bank by September 2006. There are three different levels of workforce involved, their segregation is as follows 13525 are officers, 16497 are clerks and 8041 are sub staff.
