JNU M.Phil/PhD Entrance Exam

JNU organizes M.Phil/Ph.D entrance exam of areas in genetic engineering, molecular Biology, genetics, plant biotechnology, cell biology, immunology, developmental biology, microbiology, neurobiology, cancer biology, radiation, structural biology and bio-physics. 

Eligibility

M. Sc. or the corresponding degree with minimum of 55% in Bioinformatics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences or those having M. Tech., M.B.B.S, M. Sc. (Veterinary Sciences), M. Sc. (Agriculture) with 55%. Candidates having M. Sc. or counterpart in associated subjects including Biophysics, Biochemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Physiology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Physics, or Zoology, with 55% are suitable also.

The University generally organizes the entrance exam for admission in different full-time programs in following 51 cities: Ahmedabad, Agartala, Allahabad, Aizawl, Bangalore, Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Bareilly, Chandigarh, Calicut, Coimbatore, Chennai, Dehradun, Dimapur, Delhi, Gangtok, Goa, Guwahati, Gorakhpur, Hyderabad, Gwalior, Indore, Imphal, Itanagar, Jammu, Jaipur, Katihar, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Madurai, Noida, Nagpur, Patna, Pant Nagar, Pune, Pondicherry, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Raipur, Shillong, Shimla, Secunderabad, Siliguri, Silchar, Thiruvananthapuram, Srinagar, Varanasi, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Udaipur. 

How to apply

Prospectus and application form may be achieved either via post through sending Bank Draft of Rs. 300/- favoring JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University), to be paid at New Delhi with unstamped self-addressed envelope, having minimum size like 30 cms X 25 cms. Please clearly indicate category to which application form is needed on self-addressed cover to:

Candidates of Nepal, wanting prospectus and application are needed to send demand draft of Rs.400/- in the US Dollars. Cheques and Money Orders won’t be accepted. Don’t send the request via courier services or personally from Counter in Administrative Block at the University for Rs. 200/- cash payment per set. For BPL card holders, prospectus and application form is available free of cost by submitting copy of BPL card.
