Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is the all India admission test to give admissions to the BA LLB programs in national law universities in the country. CLAT is most important entrance exam for candidates seeking a career in law. Every year huge number of candidates appears in CLAT so competition is really tough.

CLAT is the common admission test to all the national law universities therefore candidates don’t require to make expenses for appearing in the numerous entrance exams from different law universities. CLAT is organized by one of available national law universities each year depending on the rotational policy. 11 national law universities are there which give admissions through CLAT.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must pass 10+2 or comparable exam with minimum of 50% total marks (45% in case of reserved categories). Those appearing for the class 12th exam current year may also apply. The candidate also needs to be under 20 years of age (22 for reserved categories). 

Application forms Availability
Candidates may get the CLAT application form from selected branches of SBI (State bank of India), Indian Bank, and 11 contributing National Law Schools. Candidates may also download application form from website www.clat.ac.in . One may also receive the CLAT forms of from CLAT office through post by sending form request along with demand draft. 

Examination Pattern
CLAT paper is usually of 2 hours, having 200 questions of multiple choice from following sections:

Elementary Mathematics: 20 questions
English with Comprehension: 40 questions
General Knowledge and Current Affairs: 50 questions
Legal Aptitude: 45 questions
Logical Reasoning: 45 questions
