PATTERN OF AIPMT
Preliminary Examination:
The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
Final Examination:
The finally Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions(four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
The duration of the paper would be 3 hours.
Language of the Question Papers:
Candidate can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be exercised while filling in the Application Form. It can not be changed later.

CBSE AIPMT (Medical Entrance Exam)
The AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) is a college entrance examination. It is held on yearly basis. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts this exam for admission into medical colleges in India for courses like MBBS and BDS. Currently about fifteen percent of the total seats are reserved in all dental and medical colleges run by the Union of India, municipal, state governments, etc. Recently AIPMT has undertaken ST, SC and OBC reservations. These reservations are valid for central institutes only. The AIPMT is amongst the most awaited exams in the country. The AIPMT is to Medical what AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) is to Engineering.
The exam consists of two parts. The first part is the Preliminary Round which is conducted on the first Sunday of April. The second part is the Final Round conducted a month later. The Preliminary Round consists of one paper covering subjects Chemistry, Physics and Biology (Zoology and Botnay) and having two hundred questions. All the questions are objective. Each question has four options with one correct answer. The exam duration is three hours. The Final Round is similar to the Preliminary Round except that this time the paper contains 120 objective questions from the same three subjects, viz, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology and Botany). The duration too for the Final Round is three hours. All the questions are to be marked n a machine gradable sheet. The exam can be appeared in either of the two languages, Hindi or English. The candidate should specify the language of the question paper in his/her application form.
All candidates can apply either through Offline or Online procedure. Online application is made through the board’s website www.aipmt.nic.in. Both the application procedures include filling up basic information about the candidate and paying the fees in the form of a Demand draft. Offline applications are sent to AIPMT head office in Delhi. After verification of the documents, all candidates are issued Admit cards. The current date of Preliminary examination is 03-APR-2010 and that for the final exam is 16-MAY-2010
